mdm skills audit

Check installed skills for available updates and security advisories.

Usage

mdm skills audit [skills...]

For each installed skill sourced from a git remote, mdm queries the skills.sh API to check:

  • Whether a newer version is available.
  • Whether any security advisories apply (via OSV and the skills.sh advisory database).

Local skills and skills from unknown sources are reported as unchecked.

Output

    ✓ no advisories

  outdated-skill

Flags

Flag Description
--global, -g Audit global skills only
--project, -p Audit project skills only
--json Output as JSON
--source, -r Pre-install audit: owner/repo or URL to audit before installing
--skill, -s Skill name to audit (used with --source)

Pre-install audit

Pass --source (and optionally --skill) to audit a package you have not yet installed. mdm queries skills.sh and OSV for the given source and prints the same advisory/sync report it would have produced after install, without writing anything to disk. Combine with --json for CI use.

# Audit a remote before installing
mdm skills audit --source vercel-labs/agent-skills

# Audit a single skill inside a multi-skill repo
mdm skills audit --source owner/repo --skill my-skill --json

Examples

# Audit all installed skills
mdm skills audit

# Audit only global skills
mdm skills audit -g

# Audit a specific skill
mdm skills audit my-skill

# Machine-readable output
mdm skills audit --json
